This year, the festival is delighted to collaborate with the Sõprus Cinema, where three films connected to literature in one way or another will be screened at the beginning of festival week.
On Tuesday 26 May, we present Franz (2025) by the award-winning Polish director Agnieszka Holland, a film about the life of Franz Kafka, one of the most important writers of the twentieth century and a figure who has inspired filmmakers before. The screening will be introduced by artist Peeter Laurits, who himself has recently appeared on screen in the Estonian documentary filmmaker Johan Huimerind’s new film Descent into the Valley.
