Fagira D Morti
1974

Estonian poet using a pseudonym that is almost a full anagram of her real name Margit Adorf. Morti became known as a member of the literary group Õigem Valem (More Correct Formula), and she has published as samizdat editions her several collections of poetry. Her poetry book Normaalsuse etalon (Model of Normality), published in 2001 was shortlisted for the poetry award of the Estonian Cultural Endowment. Fagira D. Morti is also known for her pictografic poems in the shape of various containers. Adorf on the other hand is well-known as a scathing and contradictory literary and film critic. In Morti’s poems languid irony blends with dramatic sentimentality. Her manner of reading her poetry is also quite theatrical.
