Tiit Aleksejev
1968

Historian and novelist. Has published two novels, both of them have attracted wide attention and created hope that perhaps Aleksejev will be the great Estonian novelist of the early 21st century. His novel Valge kuningriik (White Kingdom) is gripping and full of intrigues, depicting contemporary diplomacy and war – the book won the Betti Alver Literary Prize for the best debut. Palveränd (Pilgrimage, 2008) is a historical novel about the First Crusade, a subject that Aleksejev as a historian has been very interested in. He is writing the sequel in which the characters of the first book finally reach the walls of Jerusalem.
