P. I. Filimonov
1975

poet, prose writer and playwright. Published his work in Russian in Estonia and in Russia, one of the authors of the Russian language almanac Tuulelohe (Kite). His novel Mitte-eukleidilise geomeetria tsoon (The Zone of Non-Euclidean Geometry) was originally published in Russian in 2007. Filimonov’s pseudonym contains a certain amount of literary playfulness. His novel is introduced as follows: “Who is P. I. Filimonov? „He is an utterly banal guy in a sagging track suit, he lazes around on a sofa, watching football and thinking idly about the meaning of the existence during the fifteen minute interval. The initials meant at first Pyotr Ivanovitch, but now they probably don’t mean anything at all and P. I. Is just P. I.”
