Despite an impressive literary background (Mihkel’s father Eno Raud, mother Aino Pervik and sister Piret Raud have influenced our children’s literature, and his brother Rein Raud has written several acclaimed philosophical works), Raud actively took to literature only recently, when he caused an outcry both in cultural and wider audiences with his outspoken and daring book of memoirs Musta pori näkku (Black Mud in Your Face, 2008).
