Estonian translator, lecturer and poet. Although his speciality is Japanese culture and language – he has studied Japanese in the universities of Tokyo and Kyoto and works as a lecturer of Japanese cultural history in Tallinn University – his published poetry translations have been from other languages: Chinese (Bei Dao), English (Allen Ginsberg) and Finnish (Olli Heikkonen). He has also published a selection of his own poetry Ühtlasi (Sametimes, 2002) and the second collection should be out in 2010.
