Viiding’s poetic manner and attitude to fiction clearly stand out, primarily because her poetry is distinctly social-critical, examining different ideologies and stereotypes, often fighting them almost methodically. Her poetry is also remarkable because it does not want to entertain the mind but – in the words of the poet Jürgen Rooste – to dissect it; make incisions into consciousness with a surgical knife, leaving scars that heal slowly and painfully. | |
